Arizona Sunrays Hosts an Olympic Watch Party

As a parent in Phoenix, finding an extracurricular activity that keeps your child active, builds confidence, and fosters community is key. If your child loves tumbling at Arizona Sunrays, understanding how a recreational gymnastics team can enhance their skills and social connections will help you decide if it's the right step for their athletic growth.

A recreational gymnastics team bridges the gap between traditional weekly instructional classes and high-pressure, elite competitive leagues. It offers the thrill of performing in front of a crowd, the camaraderie of being part of a dedicated squad, and the structured progression of learning routines, all without the demanding, high-stakes pressure often associated with elite tracks. Here at Arizona Sunrays, we have developed the perfect solution tailored specifically for local families: our exciting iTeam program.

What is the iTeam?

iTeam is our specialized, in-house program that offers gymnastics with a fun, competitive twist. Gymnasts are given the chance to learn and perfect unique routines across all four classic events: vault, bars, beam, and floor. iTeam is an invitation-only program. If the gymnast is demonstrating interest and enjoyment in our programming, iTeam is a natural progression!

Parents often wonder about long-term growth in gymnastics. iTeam is a standalone program designed for all interest levels, offering a low-stress environment where children can develop at their own pace, with opportunities to progress to more competitive paths like Developmental or Xcel as they grow.

Team Levels and Progression

Our recreational team is structured to grow alongside your young athlete. We offer several different levels to suit their advancing skills and dedication:

  • White Level: This introductory stage helps athletes focus on foundational skills and choreography. The monthly tuition for iTeam White is $184.
  • Teal Level: As athletes advance and gain confidence, their routines become more complex. The monthly tuition for iTeam Teal is $261.
  • Purple & Black Levels: These upper tiers challenge our more experienced athletes with intricate skill combinations. The monthly tuition for iTeam Purple & Black is $314.

Parents often wonder how their children can advance. Skill progressions are tracked in iClassPro, and invitations to move up happen multiple times a year, inspiring confidence in their child's development.

Meets, Clinics, and Team Bonding

One of the most rewarding parts of being on a recreational team is the vibrant community. Team bonding events foster a sense of belonging, helping gymnasts and coaches connect beyond practice and creating lasting friendships.

For competition day, we prioritize convenience for Phoenix families, with most iTeam events held at our local Phoenix location. When possible, we host off-site Sunrays competitions once or twice a year, and all athletes are pre-registered, making participation simple and accessible.

The Commitment

We understand busy schedules! iTeam is a school year program, but many athletes stay year-round. Our flexible approach supports parents while encouraging consistent participation.

If your child is ready to take their gymnastics journey to the next level, explore everything we have to offer at Arizona Sunrays and let's make this season unforgettable!
