If you are a parent searching for pediatric speech therapy in Phoenix, you already know how overwhelming the process can be. Between finding a qualified speech-language pathologist (SLP), managing waitlists, and figuring out how to fit weekly sessions into your busy family schedule, it can feel like a full-time job.
But what if your child's speech therapy could take place in an environment they already know, love, and associate with fun? This familiarity can help parents feel more confident and at ease with the therapy process, knowing their child is in a safe and welcoming space.
At Arizona Sunrays, we’ve brought expert Speech Therapy into our gymnastics center. While combining a gym and a speech clinic might sound unconventional at first, it is actually a game-changer for children and parents alike. Here is why choosing a gymnastics center for your child's speech therapy is a brilliant move.
Let’s face it: clinical medical settings can be intimidating for young children. Bright lights, quiet waiting rooms, and sterile hallways often make kids less likely to let their guard down.
When therapy takes place inside a vibrant, family-friendly facility like Arizona Sunrays, the "clinical" anxiety disappears. Children walk through the doors to laughter, trampolines, and the energetic buzz of a place built entirely for them. Because they feel safe and excited, they're more open to engaging with their speech therapist, leading to more productive, natural sessions.
Driving across the Valley during rush hour is a headache no parent enjoys. One of the biggest hurdles to consistent speech therapy is simply finding the time, and knowing therapy is nearby can make parents feel relieved and less overwhelmed.
By offering speech therapy at our 32nd Street location in Phoenix, we make it easier for busy families to fit therapy into their schedules. Combining speech sessions with other activities under one roof saves travel time and reduces the hassle of multiple appointments, especially with flexible evening and weekend options.
Therapists have long known that movement and cognitive development are deeply connected. Seeing this synergy can inspire parents to feel hopeful about their child’s progress and motivated to pursue integrated therapy options.
Many families find that pairing speech therapy with an active class—like dance or gymnastics—helps their child regulate their sensory needs. For children with diverse developmental needs, our speech therapy perfectly complements our Unique Abilities Program, which utilizes our gym space to incorporate sensory exploration, manipulatives, and specialized instruction.
Just because the therapy is happening inside a gymnastics center doesn’t mean it’s any less rigorous. At Arizona Sunrays, Rachel Witenstein, M.S., CCC-SLP, a highly experienced, licensed pediatric speech-language pathologist, leads our speech therapy program.
From developmental language delays and articulation issues to apraxia and stuttering, children ages 1 to 18 receive personalized, one-on-one evaluations and tailored therapy plans. You get the highest standard of private-pay clinical care, wrapped in the warm, supportive community you expect from Arizona Sunrays.
Your child deserves a therapy environment where they feel confident, supported, and ready to grow. If you are ready to take the next step in your child's communication journey, we are here to help.

What ages do you provide speech therapy for?
We proudly offer speech therapy for children and teens ages 1 through 18. Our licensed SLP tailors every session to your child’s specific developmental age and personal goals.
Do we have to be enrolled in gymnastics to do speech therapy?
Not at all! While many of our families love the convenience of doing both, our speech therapy program is completely standalone. You do not need to be enrolled in gymnastics, dance, or NinjaZone to become a speech therapy client.
When are therapy sessions available?
We know how tough it is to pull kids out of school or leave work early. That is why we offer flexible evening and weekend appointments designed specifically to fit into busy family schedules.
What happens during the first visit?
Every child starts with a comprehensive, 2-hour evaluation with our Clinical Director. This lets us fully understand your child's unique communication challenges and build a personalized roadmap for success before regular 30- or 60-minute sessions begin.
